Back in action
Happy Monday everybody! First, I would like to give thanks to everybody who commented on my post about not feeling so well. While I wasn't stuck in bed all week, I definitely had to drive to only go to work and sit on my couch and eat soup. But now I am back in action and ready to get some writing done. Also, this is a dictated post so I am giving fair warning for any odd errors. :-)
That is exactly what I did today. I spent approximately 2 hours this morning resuming my work on Spirit hackers. So far, I had only two chapters completed which are only teasers so there was not a very high word count. Today I started on chapter 3 and I decided to actually type the chapter instead of dictating it as I had for the previous two. I did see some advantages to using the dictation software, but it also did like typing out the book the old-fashioned way. I think the chapter is done, but I am unsure if I need to fatten it up a little. I guess I will leave that for the editing stage. :-)
As for now, I do consider Chapter 3 completed and I definitely like where the story is going so far even though it is still in its early stages. Today I typed 1139 words which is a nice chunk for the day. This brings the grand total so far to 2515 words. Not too shabby considering I only have seven pages.
I may get to work more on the story later tonight but I am unsure as there are other things I would like to do. For now, I am satisfied with the work I have accomplished today. I do have some ideas to get a lot of writing done next month and I hope to share those in a post within the next couple of days.
I do want to give a big shout out to Janna for being my inspiration for today. If you haven't visited her blog, check out my right-hand sidebar and click on "something she wrote" to read about her fantastic news about her story she's trying to get published. I am going to spoil it for you: she received a reply back from a publishing company asking for a full manuscript! For a writer that is fantastic news and I am definitely happy for her achievement. I hope it all works out for her and it is definitely an inspiration for me to keep this whole writing thing going. Great work Janna!
I'll speak everybody very soon! As always, thank you so much for reading and I appreciate any and all feedback in my comments section.
