Capacious Kindle for June 17
I want to welcome all you Copious Notes readers to a new series coming to you every Tuesday called Capacious Kindle. This weekly entry into my posting schedule will talk about something that I really love: My Amazon Kindle.
For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, lets get the backstory. In November of 2007, Amazon.com introduced a new device manufactured by them called the Kindle. This is an ebook reader that does not use a traditional screen. Instead it uses a technology called epaper and electronic ink. The goal is to have text on a screen that is crystal clear to read and does not look electronic. The techology is lightyears ahead of other screen technology and you must see it in person to understand how readable it is.
On March 20th I recieved my Kindle after a six-week wait. Yes I overpaid (the Kindle retailed for $399 and now it's $359) and yes I waited much longer than someone ever should for a piece of electronics, but the Kindle was purchased for one important reason: I want to read more. Now that I am in my third month of ownership, I can say that I have read more this year than I have in who knows how long. I am currently 25% into my forth Kindle book.
I am so passionate about my Kindle that I would like to share my experiences, thoughts, and interesting encounters with you all. Also, I would like to answer any questions you guys may have about it. So every Tuesday, you can look forward to a new Kindle-related post. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to ask some questions in the comments and I'll answer them in the next post.
